The Clinic

I started my Andy Whitfield marathon/stalkerfest.  One of the only movies I could find was The Clinic.  It says it is based on true stories, which begs the question, "how much do they actually preserve from truth in the movies?"  This was a story of a couple traveling and they stop at a hotel.  He goes out for food comes back and his pregnant partner is gone.  It goes horrifically from there.  She wakes up and she is no longer pregnant but is in a prison of sorts.

Hmmm.   I know horrible things happen, but how much of this story is true?  I may have to google such things.  Inquiring minds want to know...

Spartacus

I have fell in love with Spartacus...  I started watching it, and I wasn't sure if I would like it because of all the blood.  Then I took one look at Andy Whitfield and I was hooked.  Now I am on a mission to watch all Andy Whitfield movies.  I was so saddened to hear about his death due to cancer. He was a great actor and will be missed greatly.

Biscotti

This is a great recipe.  Although I got it from my sister, I'm not sure where she got it so I'm afraid I can't give credit where it's due.

1/2 cup oil
1 cup sugar
3 eggs
1/2 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp almond extract
1 cup slivered almonds
1 Tablespoon anise seed
Mix oil, sugar, eggs, soda, salt, vanilla, almond extract and anise seeds.  Add flour and almonds.  Mold into two logs about 3x8".  Place on cookie sheet covered with foil. (I use a silpat). Dough will be kind of sticky.  Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Cut into strips.  Place cut side down on cookie sheet.  Broil 15-30 seconds on each side.  Drizzle with chocolate.
