My first set of flare nails

These were a hot mess and I've never done flare nails until these. She had her four year old at the appt and needless to say this app was forever long. By the time she took her child potty, got her a drink, movie, snacks, this appt was about 3 hours. :/ yikes.

Christmas in retail Hell

Whoa, its the last stretch until Christmas. I have to say this may turn into Confessions of a part-time bookseller. People are just rude. I cashier at the bookstore and people come up on their phone (because their time is more valuable than theirs.) they ignore you, snap at you. Its not fun. Take a step back at what you are acting like. Is it going to make you feel better to make a adult woman cry because you cant control your emotions? Or is it because you waited until the last minute to go shopping. Heres a clue... Christmas is on the same day each year! BITE ME! Other than that, I started at a new salon and am loving it. I am making money and learning so much. Some feel like doing nails is a "hobby". Its not. Its artistic, and makes people feel beautiful. I just happen to love what I do. Sometimes Im not at my best and that makes me feel horrible, but each day is new and I can only learn from my mistakes. Its been such a trying year. Our house is the money pit. We have mold in our ceiling. Our roof leaks on our head over bed because we have a roof leak. WTH? Oh well, I really hope its a mild winter because we cant fix it now. I have high hopes for next year and hope with my new training and new job it will be a profitable one. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Busy Time

Wow, I've been busy lately. I recently sent a resume to a reputable nail manufacturing company when I saw that they were looking for nail educators. I got a call, did a over the phone interview, emailed pictures of my work and got the call that I was invited to come and take a 4 day course. I left for California on October 31 2012. I arrived at the Marriott Suites in Anaheim California November 1st. I checked in early and used my first day to do a little sight seeing. Headed out to Long Beach I went to see the Queen Mary ship. I've always wanted to check it out because I have always been interested in spirits and such. I went on two ghost tours of the Queen Mary and I have to say I loved it!! The first tour was more of a haunted attraction. The tour guide was trying to be spooky. It worked. It was dark, spooky lights and he kept talking in a low voice. The next day we had to meet in the lobby at 8 o'clock and be ready to go. I was so nervous, I think I had some serious panic attacks. Over the course of the next four days, we had some intense training and homework. We had to give a presentation on a product and do some testing. It was bonkers!! And, I made it!! I can't believe it,I was so out of my comfort zone. Well, I got the e-mail that said I passed. I am ecstatic! I did doubt myself. Now, on to bigger and better things!! I am now a educator for Hand and Nail Harmony. WOO HOO!!

Books I've read last month

This was the last one I read recently. I read it because it was free on my nook and it got great reviews. Well, here's another one. This book was fantastic. It's a fallen angel book similar to Fallen by Lauren Kate. But, this one I thought was easier to get through and better. I can't wait to read the rest in the series.

After searching on my Nook for free books, I found this gem. And it is a gem. It's based a girl that is a descendant of the brothers Grimm. It was so much fun to read and I loved the concept. It does seem to be self-edited, but I didn't mind. It's free, and a great story. I'll overlook it.

Naturally after reading UnEnchanted, I had to read the second in the series. I loved this one as well. And of course it left with a cliffhanger and I can not wait until the next one comes out!! Happy reading!
